The Innovation Week (i-week) is an annual event to showcase ICT innovations in Ghana and her ECOWAS neighbours. The i-Week, an initiative of the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, aims to promote the growth of ICT education and innovation in Ghana and the Subregion through exhibitions, seminars, presentations and discussions of best worldwide examples in accomplishing developmental growth through ICT.
Recent editions were streamed live and attended by members of the subregion. The event has also featured the work of over 50 of Ghana's most promising technology startups. The startups were given technical, marketing, and branding support.
The themefor i-Week 2015, Digital Paymentsand E-Commerce: Embracing a Cashlight Economy,focuses on howGhana can better leverage current technological developments to build the needed traction towards a cash-light economy. This holds promisefor job creation, increased business and expansion of the economy.This year's event will continue in the tradition of highlighting innovative solutions and building the capacity of promising Technology startups to scale up.
The main message is that innovation can be translated into action and that there is unlimited potential for innovation on our African continent.
