The Sandwich Programme is an annual programme run in the months of June and July for students in tertiary institutions (University & Polytechnics).
The programme is specially designed to provide the knowledge and practical skills that students require to enter the job market and complete their course and project works to the highest standard. This course teaches participants how to develop Java applications while providing the basis for writing android and J2ME applications. JAVA is intended to let application developers "write once, run anywhere" (WORA), meaning that code that runs on one platform does not need to be recompiled to run on another. At the end of the course participants will be able to develop and test Java applications (typically) using Eclipse/. The rapid growth of smartphones walks hand in hand with demand for application development skills growing at a breathtaking pace.This course will cover the fundamental programming principles, software architecture and user experience considerations underlying handheld software applications development on the Android platform(the fastest growing segment of the handheld system user base). This course is a hands-on training designed to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of Oracle Programming and basic knowledge of Oracle Server Administration. The course assumes the students have little or no programming experience and therefore teaches how to program with the PL/SQL to automate and extend the capabilities of Oracle Database server. The course is intended to provide a mix of GIS theory and practical experience for many possible applications.
