Computing Infrastructure System and Security Pathway (CISS)


This course is designed to prepare students for Cisco Certification, network security and other industry recognized certification exams. Networks are becoming more intelligent, programmable and software-driven which this course supports such evolution and exposes learners to new concepts and hands-on experiences. Best of all, the course is tied to CCNA certifications. Cisco Certifications are highly valued by employers globally, as they demonstrate one’s exceptional skills, relevant to many industries, including health care, manufacturing, retail, financial, education, and more.


By the end of this course, a participant should be to;

  • Configure single-area OSPFv2 in both point-to-point and multi-access networks.

  • Implement standard IPv4 ACLs to filter traffic and secure administrative access.

  • Configure NAT services on the edge router to provide IPv4 address scalability.

  • Configure switches and end devices to provide access to local and remote network resources.

  • Configure routers to enable end-to-end connectivity between remote devices.

  • Use security best practices to configure a small network

  • Setup and configure Linux services including SSH, DNS, and FTP.

  • Perform network and web application scans to identify to identify vulnerabilities.

  • Deploy an intrusion detection and prevention system.

  • Configure VLANs and Inter-VLAN routing, applying security best practices.

  • Configure IPv4 and IPv6 static routing on routers.

  • Troubleshoot EtherChannel on switched networks.

  • Participant should have a Certificate in Software Development

  • Individual with some network background with basic programming skills

450 hours/23 weeks/Mon-Fri (8am-5pm)
