The Open Day is an event organised by the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT which brings together young people in the High Schools to learn critical thinking skills, computing and the opportunities careers in IT offer.
The Open Day is focused on introducing and educating participants on the various careers available in the field of technology and how they can effectively tap into these careers through innovation and effectively market themselves to be ready for the job market. As part of our mandate, AITI-KACE has instituted various programmes and training sessions throughout the year for SHS students in Ghana to enable them appreciate the huge benefits of ICT and develop the interest in solving real life challenges using ICT.
The AITI-KACE Open day gives students the opportunity to know what lies ahead of them when it comes to ICT and career choices. During the event, participants are involved in activities such as Programming, Robotics, Mobile Application Development Foundations, Maths mania, Collaborative tools and Brain games. There are also career counseling sessions and a guided tour of the Centre’s state-of-the-art facilities allowing students to gain a real feel of ICT.
