The newly appointed Director-General of the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE), Dr. Collins Yeboah-Afari has paid a courtesy call on his colleague administrator of the GIFEC, Mr. Prince Ofosu Sefah. The visit which took place on Wednesday, 25th August, 2021 had some management staff of the two-sister institutions join in.
The visit was intended for Dr. Collins Yeboah-Afari to officially introduce himself to GIFEC and also to create a platform for the two heads to deliberate on steps to deepen their collaborative relationship. The two heads emphasized the point that there is much to be achieved once they can clearly define the areas that the two can work together.
Mr. Ofosu Sefah of GIFEC expressed excitement at the fact that his colleague has initiated the process to deepen the collaboration that exists between the two organisations. He said the stakeholders of the two institutions must be served well and one of the best ways to do that is for the two to strategise on how to “sustainably create avenues for improved service to their stakeholders.” Mr. Sefah said “Seeking to provide quality and enhanced service must be a continuous process.”
Dr. Yeboah-Afari said as part of his immediate plans, he intends to extend the visit to other sister-agencies and industry players. He said “it is in understanding what others are doing in the digitilisation space are we able to develop programmes and courses to meet their needs.”
The AITI-KACE and GIFEC are sister agencies under the Ministry of Communications and Digitilisation. The two agencies have in the past signed an MoU of collaboration through which some projects were delivered. The two heads agreed to pick the MoU for review. Both were optimistic that the two agencies can work together for a greater good.
